Established in 1876, The Fine Art Society’s two elegant gallery spaces in Edinburgh and London handle exceptional works of British art and design. They are leading specialists in Scottish art from the 1700s onwards and London-based artists of the Victorian, Edwardian and interwar periods. History of the New
2 - 29 June

An exhibition of Scottish and British paintings from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and decorative art and furniture from the late nineteenth century. The show will include a group of pictures by Glasgow Boys including Sir John Lavery, Joseph Crawhall, Sir James Guthrie, George Henry, Arthur Melville and Stuart Park. The show also counts amongst its exhibits the Scottish Colourist F.C.B. Cadell and a rare and early wartime work by Keith Vaughan.

There will also be prints on display by James Whistler, Paul Nash and Kenneth Martin. Decorative arts include a rare and exceptional piece of enamel ware by Phoebe Traquair and an exceptional, Glasgow-style metalwork door plate by Talwin Morris.
